How Decorate works

Decorate automatically improves the look of your design. It generates visual elements that match your existing colors, layout, and overall design, so everything stays cohesive. Results may vary depending on your page content and layout.

Supported design types

Decorate is currently supported on most fixed-size design types (such as presentations, social media posts, posters, flyers, and standard document formats)

It is not available in Canva Sheets, Canva Code, and Canva Whiteboard.
Pages with extreme aspect ratios (very wide or very tall) may not support all features.

When to use Decorate

Use Decorate when you want to:

Quickly enhance your design
Fill empty or unbalanced layouts
Match a theme, season, or mood
Explore different design styles fast

Tips for better results

Use specific prompts (for example, “pastel spring theme”)
Generate multiple options to compare styles
Combine Decorate with layouts and styles for a more polished result

Decorate your slides

Enhance your slides with visuals that match your content.

Create or open your presentation.
From the editor, select a thumbnail or select your page background.
From the floating toolbar, select Edit. This opens the Edit Page panel.
From the Edit page panel, choose Decorate.
Describe your design (optional).
1. In the Describe what you'd like to add field, enter a prompt such as: "spring flowers, easter bunnies, or minimal geometric shapes."
2. Or, select Inspire me for suggestions.
Select Generate to instantly create decoration options tailored to your slide. Note:You can continue editing other slides while results load.
Select one of the four generated options to apply it to your slide.
To try more design variations:
1. Select Generate again to explore new styles.
2. Select Clear to remove your prompt.

After decorating your slide, you can move, resize, or delete decorations.

Decorations don’t appear or generate properly

What can cause this

The slide layout, content, or format may not support all decoration types.

What to do

Try a different or simpler prompt (for example, "floral elements" instead of a complex description). You may also tap Inspire me for autosuggestions.
Select Generate again to retry.
Check that your page has existing content. Decorate works best with pages that already have text or images.
Refresh the page and try again.
If the issue persists, try a different browser or clear your browser cache.
