Create designs using templates

Use Canva templates to quickly create designs from the homepage or the editor.

You can also start a new design from the Quick Create section on your homepage or the Create tab to browse templates by design type. Visit our Design from scratch page to learn how.

Browse through the list of available templates by selecting

1. From the editor, go to the Templates tab.
2. Enter a prompt in the search bar describing the template you want to create, then press Enter. Learn more about AI prompting here.
   1. Under Search, check available templates from the Canva library.
   2. To generate new templates with Canva AI, select Generate.
3. (Optional) Select the + (plus) icon to guide the output:
   1. Upload – Attach files from your device.
   2. Add from Canva – Use files from Your designs or Uploads.
   3. Import – Add files from Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive.
   4. Styles– (For Presentations and Videos) Select a style option if available.
4. Review generated templates and select one to apply it to your design.
5. Select Regenerate to explore more template variations.

If you plan to print your design, use CMYK colours to help make sure that the colours are printer-friendly. This is because colours don’t look the same on screens and on paper.
