Set up Canva for Salesforce app
With Canva for Salesforce app, you can use accurate data directly from Salesforce when creating on-brand sales collateral such as presentations and brochures, making collaboration between designers and salespeople easier.

- This feature is for Canva Enterprise only and uses Salesforce Professional, Enterprise, or Unlimited.
- To set up the app, you must be a team admin in Canva and Salesforce, or able to collaborate with team admins for either application.
The following steps are guidelines for using Canva for Salesforce app on the Salesforce platform.
The Canva for Salesforce app is not yet available via the Salesforce AppExchange directory. To install the app, go to Salesforce.
Step 1: Connect Salesforce to Canva
To sync data between Salesforce and Canva, here’s how to connect them.
- Open the Salesforce App Launcher.
- Search for and select Canva.
- From the Canva for Salesforce - Administration Setup page, select Connect.
- Choose the relevant Canva team and select Allow.
Step 2: Configure permissions
Here’s how to grant and manage access permissions for Canva admins and Salesforce end-users.
Who needs permission to use Canva for Salesforce app?
- Canva admins, who are responsible for mapping data fields.
- Salesforce end-users, who are responsible for generating designs from Salesforce data.
- In Salesforce, navigate to the Setup section.
- Search for “users” in the Quick find box, then select Users > Users.
- On the Users page, choose a user.
- Click Permission Set Assignments > Edit Assignments.
- Under Available Permission Sets:
- For Canva admins, select Canva admin
- For Salesforce end-users, select Canva Sales User
- Click Add then, Save.
Step 4: Configure record pages
To streamline workflows and improve efficiency, you’ll need to manually configure the pages for each type of record. The steps depend on whether you’re updating or creating pages. Here’s how.
What type of records can you use to generate designs?
- Accounts
- Contacts
- Opportunities
- Custom Objects
If you’re updating existing pages
- In Salesforce, navigate to the Setup section.
- Select Object Manager.
- Choose one of the supported objects: Account, Contact, or Opportunity.
- Select Lightning Record Pages, then choose a page.
- On the selected record page, select Edit.
- From the Lightning App builder, search for Canva for Salesforce.
- Drag the Canva for Salesforce component into the page.
- Select Save.
If you’re creating new pages
- In the Lightning Record Page, select New to create a page.
- Select Record Page then, click Next.
- In the Label field, enter a name for the page.
- Search for the relevant object type from the Object dropdown, then click Next.
- Choose a page template, then select Done.
- From the Salesforce Lightning App builder, search for Canva for Salesforce.
- Drag the Canva for Salesforce component into the page.
- To activate and make the page visible to users, click Activate. To do it later, select Not Yet.
- Assign the desired level for the page.

After successfully setting up the Canva for Salesforce app, a team brand designer or admin needs to create atleast one Brand Template in Canva.
