Rename, move, share, and delete folders
Manage folders that you created, own, or have edit access to organise your designs and resources.
Team admins and owners with at least View access to a folder or an item can move and delete it.
Manage individual folders
- From the homepage side panel, select Projects, then select Shared with you.
- Select the Folders tab.
- Hover your mouse over the folder you want to manage.
- Select the more icon that appears and refer below. Note that available functions will depend on the folder’s ownership and edit access given to you.
Move and delete folders in bulk
- Hover over your mouse to select multiple folders.
- Tick the box icon that appears to select.
- To move folders, select the Folder icon at the bottom of the page, pick the folder where you want to put them, and select Move to folder.
- To delete folders, select the trash icon at the bottom of the page and click Delete.
Copy folders within the same team
- From the homepage side panel, click Projects.
- Scroll down or click the Folders tab.
- Look for the folder you want to copy and click the more icon.
- Select Make a copy. If you’re on Canva Teams choose Copy to another team.
Learn who can make changes to folders
Rename: Give the folder a new name. Available for folder owners and team members who’ve been given folder edit access.
Move to folder: You can move a folder if either:
- You’re the folder owner, or have edit and share access to the folder you need to move.
- You're the team owner or admin and have view access or greater to the folder.
- You have at least edit access to the destination folder.
Tip: If someone else on your team needs to move a folder, you can give them edit and share access.
Share: Share the folder with your team or with selected team members. Available for folder owners and team members who’ve been given folder edit and share access.
Copy link: After sharing the folder with team members, you can send them a link by selecting Copy link. The folder must be shared with them first in order for them to have access to the link.
Delete: Delete the folder and its contents. You can only delete folders that do not contain folders. You can delete a folder if you’re either:
- The folder owner
- The team owner or admin has view access or greater to the folder
Note: Deleting folders are permanent, and can't be undone.
Make a copy: Copy a folder within the same team (or to another team for accounts on Canva Teams).
- Within the same team: Anyone with at least View access
- To another team: Administrators only, unless changed via Settings.
