What is a multi-design in Canva?
Create and manage several designs (like social posts, flyers, and presentations) all in one Canva project. A multi-design project is perfect for campaigns or events that need different formats with consistent branding.

Creating a multi-design or adding a new page type is available to all users.
Create a multi-design
- Next to the last page of your design, click Add page type. Note: The Add page button adds a same-size page, while the Add page type dropdown opens the multi-design (page type options) feature.
- Select your preferred option.
Your design will now include a new page with the selected page type.
Multi-design limitations
Transitions | Transitions only work if two consecutive pages are of the same type. For example, they work between two presentation pages but not between a presentation page and a whiteboard page. Exceptions: Whiteboards, Sheets, Docs, and Websites pages don’t support transitions. |
Presentation mode | Canva doc type is not supported while in present mode. |
File compatibility | Only pages that support the selected file type will be downloaded. For multi-design files, export each design type separately. |
Content Planner | The Content Planner is not currently compatible with multi-design documents. As a workaround, copy the design you want to schedule into a new single-design and schedule it separately. Learn more about Content Planner. |
Resize a page to a different page type
Resizing a page to a different page type is only available to Canva Pro, Canva Teams, Canva Enterprise, Canva Education, and Canva for Nonprofits.

- Hover over the page that you want to resize, then select the More icon.
- Select Resize page.
- Select your preferred page type.
Download a multi-design project
Canva only allows exporting pages compatible with the selected file type. If your design contains different page types, you’ll need to download them separately.
Video pages in a multi-design will be downloaded as separate files unless they’re consecutive pages of the same dimensions.
Here’s how you can download your multi-design:
- Choose a file type – When you select a file type, Canva automatically selects the compatible pages. For example, choosing CSV will automatically select the Sheets pages.
- Download in batches – If your design contains different page types, choose a compatible file type for each page type and export them separately.

You can now download a specific page from your multi-page design.
Download a single page from a multipage design
- Right-click the page thumbnail in the editor, or selectMore on the page.
- Select Download Page. Canva sets a default format based on the design type.
- Choose or confirm the file type, then select Download.
- If the design has Pro content:
- Select More next to "Try Canva for Pro/Teams for free".
- Select Purchase Pro Content License.
- Choose a payment method, then select Pay and Download
Your file will be saved to your default downloads folder.

If you don’t see the “Print with Canva” option, refer to the Print button is unavailable page.
