Setting up and using brand fonts

Set default fonts for each heading level (H1–H5) and body text in your Brand Kit to keep designs consistent across your team.

This feature is available to Canva Pro, Canva Teams, Canva Business, Canva Education, and Canva for Nonprofits. For teams, only owners, administrators, and brand designers can set up brand fonts.

Set up brand fonts

If you’re part of multiple teams, see if you’re in the correct one first by clicking on your account icon on the top corner of the homepage. The team that you’re on will have a checkmark.

Available heading types

You can set one default font for each heading type per Brand Kit. Available heading types include:

  • H1 (Title) – Use for main titles and primary headings
  • H2 (Subtitle) – Use for subtitles and secondary headings
  • H3 (Heading) – Use for general headings within content
  • H4 (Subheading) – Use for subsection headings
  • H5 (Section header) – Use for smaller headings that divide content into sections
  • Body text – Use for paragraphs and general content

These heading types also carry semantic tags for accessibility, ensuring your designs and exported PDFs work well with screen readers.

If you want your team to only use your brand fonts, set up Brand Controls.

Using brand fonts

There are three ways to access your brand fonts from the editor:

  • Go to the
Brand tab, and select Fonts. From there, you can choose the heading type you’d like to use.
  • Select the
Text tab on the editor side panel. You’ll see the heading types under your Brand Kit.
  • Select a text on your design. On the toolbar, select the font. This will open the Font side panel, where you can also find your Brand Kit fonts.

You can also change the Brand Kit by selecting the

dropdown next to the Brand Kit name.
