Manage your brand assets in Canva

Canva Brand features give admins and brand designers a central space to manage brand assets and guidelines. This includes Logos, Colours, Fonts, and other assets such as Photography, Illustrations, Icons, and Graphics.

Admins and designers can set up Brand Kits, while admins can also set up Brand Controls, to help maintain brand consistency across designs.

Individuals can also manage their own brand assets using personal Brand Kits. Learn more about personal Brand Kits.

Members can easily access approved assets from the homepage or editor, keeping every design aligned with your brand.

Tips:

Use Web Research in Canva AI to find the latest information on your topic.

Access Brand

See your team’s Brand Kit, templates, and guidelines in one place.

  1. From the homepage, select
    Brand.
  2. To access Brand Templates, go to All Brand Templates.
  3. Browse your brand for Logos, Colours, Fonts, Brand Voice, Photos, and other custom asset categories.
  4. If your team manages multiple Brand Kits, go to the dropdown to switch and select the Brand Kit you want to use. Your personal Brand Kit also appears here if your admin has enabled it.

Personal Brand Kits are private. Only you can see and manage yours.

Brand Templates in Team Spaces

Brand Templates are owned by the brand. This helps protect brand assets and keeps templates consistent for your team.

If you use Brand Templates in Team Spaces, you may notice that access works a little differently:

  • Having edit access to a Team Spaces doesn’t automatically mean you can edit or publish a Brand Template.
  • If you can’t find a Brand Template where you expect (for example, inside a Team Spaces), it may have been moved or removed from that Team Spaces. It isn’t deleted, and it also won’t appear in the Team Space’s trash.

To find your Brand Templates:

  1. From the homepage, select Brand.
  2. Go to All Brand Templates.
  3. Search for the Brand Template name to open it or organise it.

If a Brand Template was removed from a Team Spaces, you can still find it in Brand. People with the right permissions can then organise it into the appropriate folder or Team Spaces.

Browse and manage Brand Kit assets

Preview Brand Kit assets, switch between views, and access consistent actions directly within your Brand Kit.

  1. From the Canva homepage, open
    Brand and select your
    Brand Kit.
  2. Open the section you want (for example, Logos or Photos).
  3. Select an asset thumbnail to open the asset preview. From here you can:
    • Scroll through other assets in the same section to browse without going back.
    • Open Details to view metadata.
    • Select Use in design / Open in editor (label may vary) to jump into the editor with the asset ready to use.
  4. To switch how assets are displayed, find the view controls near the top of the asset list and select
    Grid view or List view.
  5. To access asset actions, hover over or select an asset and open the ••• menu. Options vary by asset type and permissions, but may include:
    • Details (view metadata)
    • Download
    • Delete (if you have edit permissions)
    • Other actions, such as Replace across designs or Extract colour palette, where supported.
  6. If your Brand Kit includes linked folders, select the folder to open and browse it directly within Brand. To manage source assets (move, edit, or delete), open the folder in
    Projects.

You can also refer to Linking folders to a Brand Kit.

View asset insights

You can see how often your team uses a brand asset and which designs include it. This helps you decide what to keep, update, or remove in your Brand Kit.

Eligibility: Brand Kit on Canva Pro, Canva Teams, Canva Business or Canva Enterprise. Asset insights also work for images and videos stored in folders.

  1. From the
    Homepage, select
    Brand.
  2. Open the assets containing the image or video.
  3. Select
    (more) on the asset.
  4. Select
    Insights.

Add Brand Templates to a Brand Kit

Brand Templates added to a Brand Kit appear in the Brand Templates section. This helps your team find approved templates quickly and enables Canva AI to generate on-brand designs. Learn how to publish designs as a Brand Template and add it to a Brand Kit.

Use Brand Templates with Canva AI

When you add Brand Templates to a Brand Kit, Canva AI can reference them to generate on-brand designs. This works with features like Magic Design. Canva AI preserves your brand identity by:

  • Keeping locked elements unchanged
  • Maintaining brand logos by default
  • Following your brand colours and fonts

For best results, apply locks to elements you want Canva AI to preserve before adding templates to your Brand Kit. Learn more about applying locks to Brand Templates.

Create your Brand Kits

Brand Kits lets you upload and organise your team’s official logos, colours, and fonts in one place. Admins and brand designers can create multiple kits for different teams, clients, or campaigns.

Set up Brand Controls

Brand Controls help keep designs on-brand by limiting how team members use brand assets. Admins can restrict designs to approved colours and fonts, and require design approval before publishing. These settings make sure every design aligns with your brand standards—no matter who’s creating it.
