Finding and arranging layers in your design
Easily find element layers to edit or rearrange using Canva’s layers panel.
Find and select layers
- In the editor, select the page, background, or an element.
- On the toolbar above the editor, select Position. You’ll see options appear on the side.
- Select the Layers tab.
You’ll see the layers on your current page. Layers with grouped elements will have the grouped icon. The page background will have the background icon.
To find or select a layer in your design, select it from the Layers panel. It will be highlighted on your page.
On your desktop, you’ll also find edit options from the Layers panel. Just hover your mouse over a layer, and click on the more options icon that appears.
Arrange layers
- Select and hold on a layer, and drag it up or down the panel.
- A line will indicate where it will be inserted. Drop it into position.
You can also rearrange multiple layers.
Select multiple layers
- Press and hold Shift on your keyboard.
- Click on multiple layers to select them.
