Upload media from cloud storage or apps
Canva has a library of images and videos. If you want to use your own media in your designs, you can either upload them or import them to Canva.
You can now upload entire folders and multiple files from Google Drive, Dropbox, and OneDrive directly into Canva Folders. Learn how to upload multiple files and folders.
To upload your content, see Upload media from your device. To import files from your social media or cloud storage account, here’s how:
Upload media from cloud storage or apps
From the editor
- Create or open an existing design.
- From the editor side panel, select Apps.
- Select the app you want to use.
- Select Open.
- If you’re prompted to connect your account, select Connect and follow the prompts to log in and allow Canva to access your content.
- After the app is connected (if required), your folders and media files will appear on the editor side panel. Select an image or video to add to your design.
From the homepage
- From the homepage side panel, select Projects.
- Choose how you want to access the app:
- If you wish to import from Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive, select the (Add new) icon, then select Import.
- To access other apps, select More on the side panel, then select Apps, and choose the app you want to use.
- If you’re prompted to connect your account, select Connect and follow the prompts to log in and allow Canva to access your content.
- After the app is connected, your folders and files will appear. Select the file you want to upload, then click Upload.
- To use the file as a Canva design, click on it from Projects.
You can import media from your Facebook, Instagram, Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, Box, HubSpot, SharePoint, and Acquia DAM (Widen) accounts.
You can revoke app access at any time from your Settings.
Some apps are developed by third‑party developers. By connecting the apps, you agree to the developer’s Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy.
Visit canva.com/apps to browse and discover the latest apps. You can also access apps anytime from Canva by selecting More > Apps from the homepage side panel (or the More tab on mobile).
Seen apps that generate offensive or inappropriate content? Report them by selecting the More icon on the app thumbnail, and then select Report. You can also report inappropriate content here.
