  • Looking for a quick intro to Affinity? Start here.

The perfect starting point for anyone new to the software, our Affinity Essentials course covers all the fundamentals, guiding you through each studio space with visually driven projects to get you comfortable working in the app.

In this first lesson, you’ll get a tour of the UI and the different studios, highlighting key tools and functionality before diving into a hands-on activity using artwork from Brazilian lettering artist Lebassis.

  • Creating slick brand designs using Affinity’s Vector Studio

Affinity’s vector tools give you precision without the pain — the way design should be.

  • Editing images with Affinity’s Pixel Studio

Ready to take control of your photo editing workflow? In this lesson, you’ll explore Affinity’s Pixel Studio — the home of its powerful image editing tools — and learn how to move from quick fixes to intentional, refined edits.

You’ll start with essential adjustments like cropping and straightening, then remove distractions with inpainting. From there, you’ll build depth and focus using global adjustments, targeted color work, and painted refinements, before finishing with subtle filters.

  • Great creative work happens when you stay in flow. In this lesson, you’ll learn how to move seamlessly between vector and pixel tools in Affinity without breaking momentum.

Using artwork by Nigerian artist Inioluwa Alabi as inspiration, we’ll explore how vector elements and pixel-based textures, brushes, and adjustments can work together in a single file. You’ll see how to switch between studios, apply non-destructive edits, and layer techniques to build bold, expressive designs — all in one streamlined workflow.

  • A well-designed layout turns a collection of images into something unforgettable. In this lesson, we’ll show you how to create a professional photobook in Affinity, using striking insect photography by Marit Van Ekelenburg as your foundation.

You’ll begin by setting up your document and building master pages to keep everything consistent. From there, you’ll create guides to structure each spread, map out your pages using picture and text frames, and place imagery and copy with intention. Finally, you’ll prepare the file for professional print export.

  • If you control type, you control attention. In this lesson, you’ll get hands-on with Affinity’s type tools and learn how to shape, refine, and control text for maximum impact.

Using an editorial design by artist Isabela Humphrey as your foundation, you’ll work with frame text, artistic text, and tables to build flexible layouts. We’ll then show you how to align and distribute elements with precision, adjust leading, tracking, and kerning for stronger legibility, and experiment with variable fonts for more granular control.
