The Premium Apps Program is one of the ways to monetize apps on Canva(opens in a new tab or window). It lets eligible developers earn recurring revenue through premium apps. These premium apps offer premium features and developers earn continuously as app engagement grows. The Premium Apps Program encourages developers to create advanced tools and functionality, which can be bundled with Canva’s paid plans including Education and Non-Profit.

Payments are based on your individual program agreement. They’re calculated and processed by Canva into your nominated account each month. Learn how to set up your payout details(opens in a new tab or window).
Your app can only be enrolled in one monetization program at a time. If you’ve previously won an App Adoption Award, you can still apply for and be accepted into the Premium Apps Program. But if your app is accepted, it’s no longer eligible for the App Adoption Awards(opens in a new tab or window).
Developers in the Premium Apps Program have access to our support teams, plus priority placement within the Apps Marketplace.
Joining the Canva Developers Premium Apps Program is free. Submit your application(opens in a new tab or window) at no cost.
Your app must:
- Be publicly listed on the Canva Apps Marketplace(opens in a new tab or window).
- Be built using the Canva Apps SDK(opens in a new tab or window).
- Adhere to our App Developer Terms(opens in a new tab or window).
- Not be built by Canva or Canva employees.
- Not be financed, built, or otherwise contributed to by developers in Belarus, North, Korea, and Russia
Developers applying for the Premium Apps Program must also be at least 18 years of age.
