• Canva for University Student is for individual use.
• Upgrading to a paid Canva plan isn't available while you're enrolled in Canva for University Student.
• You can renew up to three times, once a year, for a total of four years.
• Your designs and assets will always stay in your account, even if your plan ends.

Canva for University Student is available to university students in Japan who meet all of the following:

• A valid Japanese university email address (usually ending in .ac.jp)
• A personal Canva account (not a team account)
• No existing paid Canva plan linked to your account

1. Go to canva.com and select Sign up.
2. Enter your university email address and follow the prompts to verify it.
3. Once verified, you'll see a welcome screen confirming your plan is active.

1. If your account already uses a .ac.jp email address, you may be able to enrol in Canva for University Student without changing anything.
2. Sign in to your Canva account.
3. Make sure you're viewing your personal brand. The enrolment option only appears when you're on a personal brand with no active paid plan.
4. Select the Canva for University Student banner that appears on your homepage.
5. Select Enrol
6. Follow the prompts to verify your university email and activate your plan.

1. On the homepage, click your account profile, then select Your account.
2. Select Your profile.
3. From Your account tab, select Edit next to your Email address.
4. Enter your university email address and select Continue. It shouldn't be linked to an existing Canva account.
5. Enter the verification code sent to your new email.
6. Once your email is verified, follow the prompts to activate your Canva for University Student plan.

No. Canva for University Student is currently only available to university students in Japan. If you're studying outside Japan, this plan isn't available to you yet.

Yes. To sign up for Canva for University Student, you'll first need to cancel your current Canva plan. You can't have both plans at the same time.

Follow the steps in Cancel your Canva plan. Once your plan has ended, you can sign up for Canva for University Student using your university email by following the steps above.

Your Canva for University Student plan will be removed, but all your designs and assets stay in your account. Nothing gets deleted.

Yes, you may still be eligible. Some Japanese universities use different email domains. Contact our support team, and we'll check if your university qualifies.

No. If your university has Canva for Campus, you'll be automatically enrolled through your institution. You'll receive instructions by email on how to join your university's Canva for Campus team. Check with your university administrator for details.

You can also copy your designs to another team at any time.

• Your university email hasn't been linked or updated yet.

• If your university email isn't linked to a Canva account, create a new Canva account using your university email.
• If your university email is already linked to an account with a shared team, change the email address on that account, then create a new Canva account using your university email.
• If your account has an active paid Canva plan, cancel it and wait until the plan expires. You can enrol in Canva for University Students once your paid plan has ended.
• Check that your university email is linked to your account. Go to the Your account tab to confirm.
• If you recently updated your email, wait a few minutes, then refresh the page.
