Maintain content access when SSO is enabled
To ensure account security, some organisations require logging in through Single Sign-On (SSO). If you work at an organisation where you have multiple email addresses (or email aliases) and they enable SSO, you may lose access to your Canva content on one of them.
Maintain access to your Canva content by doing any of the following options below before your team admin enables SSO login.
Option 1: Change the email address on your Canva account
If your content in Canva is under your "old email address" (e.g. oldemail@emailaddress.com), but your organisation needs it to be under your "new email address" (e.g. newemail@emailaddress.com), you can change your email address to keep access to your designs.

Make sure the new email address you’re changing to isn’t connected to an existing Canva account. You can’t change the email address on your account if the new email has a Canva account already.
You can share content from one Canva account to another, just as you would with a friend or colleague. You can do this by adding the "new email address" to your team on your "old email address."
- Log in using your "old email address," the email you’ve been encouraged to move your Canva content away from.
- Invite your "new email address" to your team. Learn how to invite people to teams or classes.
- Log out from your current account and log in using your "new email address."
- Accept the invitation you received via email.
- Log out from your "new email address" and log in using your "old email address."
- Go to Projects and move your designs and files into folders. Learn how to move designs and files into folders.
- Share the folders to your "new email address." Learn how to share folders.
If you have multiple teams or classes, you need to repeat the process above for each team or class.
To access the content on your "new email address," you need to switch to the right team. You can’t see content from two teams at the same time. Learn how to switch teams.
Option 3: Download your content
If you want copies of your Canva content but don’t need their editable versions, you can download them from your "old email address" account. Learn how to download your designs.
You can also request to download all of your content from Settings. To do so:
- On the homepage, select your account profile to open menu.
- Choose Settings.
- Select Login & security.
- Select Request to download.
