Set slide duration in your designs
Set how long each slide or page displays in presentations and social posts. Whether you're creating a self-running presentation or controlling the pace of a slideshow-style social post, you can adjust the duration for a single slide or page, or use Apply to all pages to set the same duration across your entire design.
Before you start
Different timing controls affect different parts of your design.
Timing control | What it changes |
Slide duration | How long the page stays visible during playback, preview, or presentation |
Element timing | When individual elements, such as text, images, or videos, appear or disappear Changing a slide's duration doesn't affect when individual elements, such as text, images, or videos, appear or disappear on that slide. Set slide duration
Here’s how to adjust the duration for a single slide or apply the same timing to every slide in your design.
Note: Turning on Apply to all pages sets the same duration across every slide in your design. Any custom durations previously applied to individual slides, videos, and timed animations will be replaced.
- Create or open your design.
- Select the page or the thumbnail of the slide you want to edit.
- From the floating toolbar, select the Clock icon (Edit timing). The Timing panel opens and displays the current slide duration. Duration is measured in seconds.
- To set the duration for one page, use the slider or type a value in the textbox to set how long the slide displays.
- To apply the same duration across all pages, toggle on the Apply to all pages button.
- Note: Turning on Apply to all pages updates every slide in your design to the same duration and replaces any custom durations previously applied to individual slides. If your design contains videos or timed animations, their durations may also be updated across applicable pages.
- Click outside the panel to close it.
Next steps
Preview your design to check that slides advance at the pace you expect. If needed, return to the Timing panel to adjust individual slide durations or apply the same duration across all pages.
