About Canva account statuses for teams and organizations
A Canva account allows you to log in, manage your profile, and access Canva across devices. It is separate from Teams, which you join to collaborate and share resources.
For organizations, account statuses help streamline collaboration, enhance security, and simplify management. Each status defines the level of organizational control over an account.
Here’s a breakdown of the key statuses:
Claimable Accounts | When a user signs up for Canva with their organization’s email domain, an admin can claim the account by verifying the organization’s domain. |
Claimed Accounts | A claimed account means the admin has verified their organization’s domain. However, the account remains unmanaged until the user confirms it's for work use. |
Affiliated Accounts | An affiliated account is linked to an organization after a user confirms it’s for work purposes. Once affiliated, users can’t: - Change the email associated with the account - Update the account name - Delete the account For these changes, users must request approval from their organization’s admin. |
Managed Accounts | A managed account is an affiliated account that’s been added to a team your organization actively manages. Once managed, admins can: - Set user permissions - Enforce security policies - Access anything created or shared in organization-managed Canva teams |
