Connect Canva to LMS

As a school team admin or leader, you can add Canva to your learning management system (LMS) so students can access and work on designs directly from their courses.

Make sure you have:

• A Canva for Education account.
• Admin access to your school team or district team.
• Admin permissions in your LMS to add external tools using Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI)

1. Sign in to your Canva Education account, or sign up here.
2. Once logged in, select your profile icon on the homepage, then choose the
   Settings icon.
3. On the side menu, click
   LMS Integrations.
4. Select the LMS you wish to set up an integration for and then Next Step.
5. Select the LTI version. We recommend selecting LTI 1.3, but if it’s not available for your selected LMS, select LTI 1.1 for now. You can enable LTI 1.3 at a later date once it’s available.
6. Select Next Step.
7. If you selected LTI 1.1, you can skip to Step 7 of these instructions. If you selected LTI 1.3, see the following guides per LMS:

8. Selet Finish Setup.

If the integration isn’t working:

• Check that you have admin permissions in both Canva and your LMS
• Make sure you completed all required steps in your LMS setup
• If you switch between LTI versions, disable the old version before enabling the new one.
• Try removing and re-adding the tool in your LMS

School admins can enable LMS integrations. In some cases, Information Technology (IT) admins or teachers with admin access can also enable them.

LTI 1.3 offers stronger security and a smoother integration setup. Use it when your LMS supports it.

You can connect Canva to multiple LMS platforms from the same Canva for Education account.

You can update your team settings to allow other teachers at your school to find your team. For step-by-step instructions, see School teams on Canva.

You can join a school team when signing up for Canva Education by searching for your school. If you’re already signed in, ask your school’s team owner or admin to invite you.

You can link one account per platform (such as Google or Clever). If you previously linked multiple accounts, you can continue using them. If you remove one, you may not be able to add more beyond the limit.
