Protect your domain

We do our best to keep your domains safe at Canva.

SSL certificates for secure websites

Every website you publish with Canva includes an SSL certificate, ensuring your site uses HTTPS (e.g., https://example.com). This signals to visitors that your website is secure and trustworthy.

Free Canva domains

To maintain the safety and integrity of our platform, free domains previously used by another brand can't be reused—even if they’re inactive. This helps prevent phishing and other fraudulent activities.

Domains purchased through Canva come with these default protections:

  • Domain lock, so that unauthorized people can't steal your domain by transferring it to another account;
  • Domain privacy, also known as WHOIS privacy, hides your personal details in the “WHOIS database” – otherwise anyone could find your details; and
  • Email verification, so that you can confirm actions such as a registrar transfer request by email.
