Publish and manage Canva Code websites
Publish your Canva Code creations directly as live websites. Manage your site address, settings, and updates from your code thread.
Note: You’ll need to create an interactive design with Canva Code first. Learn how to create interactive designs with Canva Code.
Publish directly from Canva Code
- Select Publish in the top-right corner of the Code window.
- Under Site address (URL), customize your site address.
- Select Settings.
- In the Title and favicon dialog:
- Enter your website title (or keep the default title generated from your prompt).
- Toggle Visible in search engines on or off.
- Configure Password protection if needed.
- Select Continue to publish to return.
- Select Publish. Your website will be prepared and published. A confirmation message appears with a link to view your site.
View your published website
You can find your live Canva Code website in two places:
From your code thread (recommended)
- Go back to your original code thread.
- Your published URL will appear with a green Live badge.
- Select the copy icon to share your link.
From Admin Settings
- Go to Admin Settings, then choose Domains.
- Find your Canva Code URL in the list.
Manage your live website
Once your site is live, you can manage it from your code thread:
- Copy URL: Select the copy icon next to your live URL
- Edit URL: Update your web address using Edit URL
- Settings: Change visibility and password protection options
- Republish: Make changes to your code and select Publish to update the same link
- Unpublish: Remove your website from the internet
Important: If you delete the Canva Code thread, the published website will also be unpublished. Deleting the thread permanently removes the website. You won't be able to recover the URL or content later.
Update your website
To update your published site:
- Open the same code thread.
- Make any changes.
- Select Publish.
Your original URL will be updated. You don’t need to create a new one.
Unpublish your Canva Code website
From your code thread
- Open your original code thread.
- Select Unpublish.
Option 2: From Admin Settings
- Go to Admin Settings, then choose Domains.
- Find your Canva Code URL.
- Select (More), then select Unpublish.
Important notes about Canva Code publishing
- Websites published from code don’t appear in your Designs list.
- If you publish using Use in a design, it creates a separate URL.
- Each code thread has one URL that updates when you publish.
- Interactivity works both in Canva and on published websites.
Troubleshooting your Canva Code website
Can’t find your website
- Go to your original code thread.
- Or check Admin Settings, then choose Domains.
- Remember: Canva Code URLs aren’t listed under Designs.
Website not updating after publishing
- Make sure you’re using the same code thread.
- Select Publish again after making changes.
- Wait until the Live badge appears.
Deleted your code thread
Unfortunately, deleting the code thread also deletes your website. You’ll need to recreate your code and publish it to a new URL.
