Sharing on social media or apps limitations

You can share your designs to supported media platforms, messaging apps, cloud storage services, and other third-party apps.

Supported sharing destinations may include Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X (formerly Twitter), Pinterest, YouTube, TikTok, Dropbox, Google Drive, Slack, and more.

Third-party apps manage their own publishing workflows and requirements, which means sharing experiences, supported features, and upload limitations can vary across platforms and change over time.

Common sharing limitations

Canva for Education: app availability and permissions

In Canva Education, some apps may not be available to students until an admin enables them. All social media and generative AI apps are disabled by default for students. An admin will need to enable these apps before students can access them.

For Canva Education accounts:

  • Students can use these apps only after an admin enables them.
  • Teachers and admins can access them regardless.

If you're a team admin, go to Settings, select Apps and integrations, turn on Manage apps for your team toggle, then select the apps you want students to access.

Important: Turning on Manage apps for your team impacts all apps in your account. Any app you want students to have access to must be enabled there.

Different apps may apply limits for:

  • supported file formats
  • file sizes
  • video duration
  • number of uploads
  • number of pages
  • captions or message length
  • supported media types

If your design doesn’t publish successfully, make sure that:

  • Your design uses a supported file type
  • The file size is within the destination app’s limits
  • Your social media or app connection is active
  • The app supports the type of content you’re sharing

Platform-specific considerations

Supported apps, sharing options, and publishing experiences may change over time as Canva and third-party platforms update their integrations.

To view the latest available options, open your design and select Share from the top-right corner of the editor.
