Use Magic Media to create photos, graphic, and videos
Generate unique images, graphics, or videos by describing what you want to see, then choose your preferred style and size.

Magic Media’s Text to Video is different from Canva AI’s Create a video clip. Learn more about creating a video clip in Canva AI using a text prompt.
Generate images with Magic Media
- On the editor side panel, click Magic Media. If you can’t see it, go to Apps, then search for Magic Media.
- Under the Images tab:
- Describe what you’d like to create, or
- Select Inspire me to get sample prompts.
- Select Styles and choose from photography, digital art, or fine art. You can also upload a reference image.
- Select your layout. Choose from square, landscape, or portrait.
- To proceed, select Generate images.
- To generate a new set of images, select Generate again.
- To generate similar images, select (More) on the image you prefer, then select Generate more like this.
- Select the image to add it to your design.
Generate graphics with Magic Media
- On the editor side panel, click Magic Media. If you can’t see it, go to Apps, then search for Magic Media.
- Under the Graphics tab:
- Describe what you’d like to create, or
- Select Inspire me to get sample prompts.
- Select Styles and choose from simple, artistic, or detailed.
- To proceed, select Generate graphics.
- To generate a new set of graphics, select Generate again.
- To generate similar graphics, select (More) on the graphic you prefer, then select Generate more like this.
- Select the graphic to add it to your design.
Generate videos with Magic Media
- On the editor side panel, click Magic Media. If you can’t see it, go to Apps, then search for Magic Media.
- Under the Videos tab:
- Describe what you’d like to create, or
- Select Inspire me to get sample prompts.
- To proceed, select Generate video.
- To generate a new video, select Generate again.
- Select the video to add it to your design.
Every generated video will be 4 seconds long.
Tips for better results
- Magic Media only uses the text you enter. The more specific you are, the better your result. Use clear, detailed prompts for best outcomes.
- If you run into an error while using the feature, try rewording your description or checking your internet connection.
Always use your best judgment and be a good human when sharing AI-generated content.

Can I control who uses Magic Media in my team?
Yes. If you’re an admin, teacher, or brand designer, you can manage access in your team settings. Some team members might not see Magic Media depending on their language settings. Learn how to change your team's access to Magic features.
Who owns the images and videos I generate?
You own what you create with Magic Media, as long as you follow our Terms of Use. But copyright laws for AI-generated content vary by country, and you may not have exclusive rights.
If your design includes recognizable people, characters, or brands, you’ll need permission from the rights holder as Canva can’t grant this.
How does Canva keep Magic Media safe?
We use automated systems to review prompts and prevent harmful content. You can also report anything inappropriate by selecting the Report button in the app.
