Brainstorm and collaborate visually with Canva Whiteboards
Use Canva Whiteboards for online brainstorming and team collaboration. Start by creating a new design or expanding an existing presentation. Use tools like Draw, shapes, lines, sticky notes, text, and tables for a visual experience.
Expanding pages to whiteboards is not supported in Websites, Print, Docs, and Video design types. Otherwise, you can create a whiteboard from scratch.
Create a whiteboard
From the homepage, select Whiteboard to create one from scratch.
Expand an existing design to a whiteboard
Turn your presentation slides to whiteboards and get unlimited space for workshops, brainstormings, and more.
- Create or open an existing presentation or brainstorm file type.
- Right-click on the page you want to expand and select Expand to whiteboard.
Undo a whiteboard expansion
To change your whiteboard back to a presentation page, undo the "Expand to Whiteboard" action to revert the page to its previous state. Alternatively, resize the current page or create a new non-whiteboard page and copy the selection there.
Move around the canvas
After expanding your slides to a whiteboard, move around and explore the infinite space of the canvas.
- To move around, press the spacebar and drag the canvas in any direction.
- To zoom in or out:
- Using your trackpad, pinch or expand using two fingers.
- Using your keyboard, press Command (Mac) or Ctrl (Windows) and scroll in or out. To zoom in, press Command + + (Mac) or Ctrl + + (Windows). To zoom out, press Command + - (Mac) or Ctrl + - (Windows).
3. From the editor, select the icon at the bottom of the editor page.
4. To quickly add elements to a whiteboard, here are some keyboard shortcuts:
- Add a sticky note: S
- Add a circle shape: C
- Add a square shape: R
If elements appear to be missing or hidden, this usually happens when you zoom out of your whiteboard. You should be able to find your elements if you zoom back in.
My presentation has a whiteboard page and I can’t scroll
If you encounter a presentation with a whiteboard page in it and you can’t scroll, just click or tap the Editing icon on the lower right corner.
