Add, edit, or delete your domain’s DNS records
Canva lets you manage your website domain settings. You can change your nameservers or transfer your domain to another domain host or registrar.
To maximize your website’s functionality, you can integrate your Canva domain with other third-party services by changing the DNS records. Here’s how.
This is available to all users who purchased a domain through Canva. For teams, only administrators and owners can access these settings.
Why would I need to edit my DNS records?
Often you'll not need to edit these records; we’ve set them up for you already to host your Canva Website!
However, some websites or third parties may require you to edit your DNS records in order to integrate with their more advanced services. A common example is email providers. These providers allow you to set up an email address using a branded domain, such as contact@mycompany.com. This is usually a paid service and is not inside Canva, and they will usually ask you to add some “MX”, “TXT” or other DNS records on your domain – and that’s when you’d need to edit your DNS records in Canva! Learn how to edit DNS records for your domain.
These options are only available after your domain setup is complete. See Step 2: Verifying your domain on our article Purchasing domains to publish websites.
Also, make sure you're using Canva’s nameservers. If you’ve changed your nameservers, you must reconnect to Canva’s nameservers first, like so:
- Under Advanced settings, click or tap Manage.
- Under the Nameservers section, click or tap Reconnect.
While Connected to Canva, some DNS records needed for Canva Websites functionality can’t be edited or deleted. Editing will be turned off for these records.
If you need to remove these records, you’ll need to disconnect from Canva. However, any Canva websites you've published will no longer be accessible. Here’s how to disconnect a domain from Canva:
- Go back to the Advanced settings page.
- Click the switch button next to Connected to Canva to disconnect.
