Upgrading to Canva Pro or Canva Business
Canva Free users can upgrade to Canva Pro or Canva Business at any time. Canva Teams is no longer available for new sign-ups or upgrades.
Which plan is right for you
Canva Pro is great for solo creators who want premium tools, templates, and content to design faster.
Canva Business is built for teams and growing businesses. It includes everything in Canva Pro, plus brand management tools, higher AI usage limits, and team collaboration features.

Third-party apps in Canva come with limited credits
Some apps in Canva are made by third-party developers and available through Canva Apps Marketplace. These apps usually include limited credits.
If you run out of credits or have issues, contact the app developer. Canva Support can’t provide credits or refunds for these apps.
How to upgrade to Canva Pro or Canva Business
1. From the homepage, select Upgrade your plan or Start your free trial.
2. Select Canva Pro or Canva Business, then select Upgrade.
- If eligible, you’ll see Try it free.
3. Select a monthly or yearly plan based on your preference. Learn about Canva’s monthly or yearly plans earn more about our payment plans.
4. Select Next.
5. Choose your payment method. Here are the supported options
6. Enter your payment details and confirm the upgrade.
The free trial is available once per Canva account and once per payment method. If you’ve used a trial before, you won’t see the free trial option. Try a new payment method or choose a paid plan.
What to expect
- Your plan will auto-renew unless you cancel.
- If available, you can try Canva Pro or Canva Business for free. The trial duration shown at sign-up is how long you'll have access before charges begin.
- Work created in Canva can’t be trademarked.
- Canva Business admins can review charges for added team members before the next billing cycle. Learn more about Canva Business billing.
- Creating a team requires a Canva Business subscription. Learn more about creating teams.
- Canva Pro and Canva Business include AI tools like Generative Fill, Expand, and Image/Vector.
Check when your free trial ends
You can check your trial end date from the Billing page in your account settings:
- From the homepage, select your profile icon or avatar.
- Select Settings.
- Select Billing & Teams.
- Your trial end date will appear next to your current plan.
You'll also receive an email reminder before your trial ends.
If you started a free trial without providing payment details, your trial ends automatically and you won't be charged.
How charges appear
When your trial ends, or your plan renews, you’ll see a charge from one of the following:
- Canva
- Canva*invoice_id
- APPLE*Canva
- GOOGLE*Canva
Charges are processed in the GMT time zone. You can cancel your plan any time before renewal to avoid unexpected charges.
AI usage limits by plan
All paid plans include AI tools, but usage limits differ. Canva Pro includes a monthly AI usage allowance for features like Magic Write, Magic Media, and AI image generation. Canva Business includes a higher monthly AI usage allowance.
If you reach your limit, AI tools will be unavailable until your allowance resets next month. To check your AI usage and remaining balance, go to your profile icon, then Settings, select Billing, and hover over AI usage.
