Canva for Nonprofits

If you're on a mission to create greater impact, Canva can help.

If your organization is an eligible nonprofit, you can access Canva Pro for free as part of our Canva for Nonprofits program.

Canva for Nonprofits program features

Canva for Nonprofits gives you and your team access to all the premium features of Canva Pro, plus team and collaboration tools, for free. This includes the following:

Sign up for Canva for Nonprofits

Before applying, make sure your Canva account has a valid email address. If your Canva account doesn’t have an email associated to it or you’d like to use a different email from the one you’re currently using, learn more about Changing your email address.

  1. Check the eligibility guidelines to see if your organization is an eligible nonprofit in your country.
  2. Have an existing Canva account. Sign up here for free if you don’t have one.
  3. Read and review the program’s Terms and Conditions.
  4. Fill out and submit the application form.
  5. Complete the verification process.

If you selected “Non-profit or charity” during signup, you’ll see a homepage alert for 30 days with a direct link to the application form. Alternatively, you can apply at any time by selecting Upgrade to Canva for Nonprofits under the Billing tab in Settings.

We'll review your application and update you via your provided email address within 72 hours.  In some cases, verifying your organization's affiliation can take longer — see below.

Note that free access to all premium features of Canva Pro - including team and collaboration tools - is available for one team of up to 50 members. Additional seats are offered at 50% off on Canva Enterprise. To learn more about Enterprise pricing and options, contact our Sales team.

If your application is rejected

If your application isn't approved, you'll get an email explaining the outcome. Common reasons include:

  • Missing or unclear documentation. Reapply with a document type accepted for your organization and country — check the eligibility guidelines for what's accepted.
  • Organization type doesn't match the category selected. Reapply under the correct category (for example, Registered Nonprofit, Social Impact Organisation, or Public Health Organisation) using an email that matches your organization's domain where possible.
  • We couldn't confirm your affiliation with the organization. This can happen if your organization hasn't responded to our verification check yet, or if the affiliation proof provided wasn't sufficient. Reapply with a signed letter of affiliation, volunteer ID, or another document showing your name, role, and organization.
  • The organization's mission or activity doesn't meet program requirements. Programs like Canva for Nonprofits are intended for registered nonprofits, charities, and qualifying social-impact or public-health organizations. Some organization types — such as sports clubs, professional associations, or businesses — aren't eligible.

You're welcome to reapply with corrected information at any time — there's no penalty for resubmitting. If you believe your organization qualifies and your application was rejected in error, contact us with your application details and we’ll take another look.

If your team continues using Canva while your application is being reviewed, you can keep using Canva Free at no cost.

I can’t proceed with the application

If you encountered a “Your organization is already using Canva” error, it means that your organization already has an account in Canva. Reach out to your organization administrator to grant you access to the account.

Applying for Canva Education

Teachers and staff at eligible K-12 institutions can apply for Canva Education in a similar way, with its own eligibility guidelines and verification steps. If your Canva Education application is rejected, the same principles apply: check the rejection reason in your email, correct your documentation, and reapply — there's no limit on genuine corrected resubmissions.
