Learn to turn data into clear, compelling stories with Flourish, a tool for creating engaging, interactive visualizations. In this course, you’ll learn to build, style, and share charts that make your data easier to understand – from your first bar chart to using colors, annotations, grids, and filters. No coding required.

  • This lesson takes you through the full process of building a bar chart in Flourish, from picking the right template and swapping in your own data, through to sorting, labeling, and exporting a chart that's ready to share. By the end, you'll have built a complete, responsive bar chart ready to publish or embed.

  • This lesson covers how to move beyond Flourish's default palette, from switching color modes and extending a palette for unique values, to overriding individual bars by label so the right data point stands out against a quiet, neutral background. By the end, you'll know how to direct attention exactly where you want it using color alone.

  • This lesson shows how to layer annotations onto a line chart's axes, from marking a single pivotal moment to highlighting an entire date range.

  • This lesson looks at small formatting details that make a big difference to readability, from shading the gap between two diverging lines to labeling only the data points that actually matter.

  • This lesson covers how to turn an unreadable, overcrowded "spaghetti" chart into a clean, responsive grid, including how to keep your coloring consistent and make sure the grid splits your data exactly the way you intend.

  • This lesson covers how to let viewers explore a large dataset at their own pace, from a simple category dropdown to a searchable, multi-select filter for charts with dozens of columns.
