Understanding chart data

When you connect a data app like HubSpot or Google Analytics to a chart, Canva creates a visual using that data. It won't insert raw data into a spreadsheet.

If you want to work with data in table form, open Canva Sheets and go to Actions, then Add data.

FAQs

Can I upload data without connecting an app?

Yes. You can upload a CSV or XLSX file up to 25MB.

Why don’t I see the refresh button?

If your chart uses data from a Canva Sheet in the same design, changes sync live and don’t require a manual refresh.

Why didn't my data show up as a table?

Charts created with third-party apps are designed for data visualization only. To work with raw data in cells, use Canva Sheets, and click Actions, then Add data.

Are third-party data apps available on Canva Free?

No. This feature is only available on Canva Business and Canva Enterprise.

Having trouble connecting a data source?
