Visual communication and collaboration are incredibly powerful tools for learning. Today, we’re announcing an initiative with Teachers Pay Teachers (TPT) to provide millions of teachers with high quality, visual content to empower their students.
TPT is an online marketplace for PreK-12 teacher-created learning resources ranging from lesson plans, teaching units, presentations, and games. TPT’s platform is used by 7 million educators worldwide. In the same way teachers can search TPT for original Google Slides, Word Docs, and PowerPoints, teachers can now search for and access Canva resources!
Easel by TPT is a digital tool that makes it easy to engage students with classroom-ready resources. As demand for visually engaging, educational resources increases, TPT Easel has added an integration with Canva – Canva Free and Pro users (not available for Canva Education accounts) can now design an original resource from scratch or modify a template from a limited custom collection of Easel Activity backgrounds and frames(opens in a new tab or window). Teachers can also access Canva’s free elements ranging from graphics, frames, digital stickers, charts, and tables. When logging into Easel from a Canva Pro account, you’ll have access to some of Canva’s premium editing features such as background remover and magic switch, but will be limited to Canva Free elements.
Interested in creating resources for other teachers? There are a few important things to keep in mind when you’re designing with Canva, especially when it comes to creating and selling educational resources. TPT has made it easier for teachers to sell original Canva resources. If you’re interested in creating resources for sale, sign up for Canva Free or Canva Pro using a personal email that’s not affiliated with your school email – you can check out Canva’s seller guidelines here(opens in a new tab or window). As best practice, we recommend starting from scratch when creating resources to avoid running into any issues with copyright and infringement. Finally, sharing a Canva template link(opens in a new tab or window) will allow others to make an editable copy of your Canva design without giving them access to edit your original design. If a design has Pro elements, sharing a template link also ensures Canva’s amazing photographers and artists receive royalties for each use of their premium work!
There’s a dramatically growing demand for Canva amongst teachers and students. For those new to Canva Education(opens in a new tab or window), it’s a 100% free offering for qualified primary to second teachers and you’ll find thousands of ready-to-use educational templates from presentations, posters, comic strips, book reports, infographics, newsletters, and more. Whether you’re looking to design directly on Canva or experience the Easel editor by TPT, we can’t wait to see what you create for students in your classroom and beyond!
