Canva is a one-stop shop for creating, editing and scheduling videos for TikTok. In Canva you can:
Canva helps you maintain better brand consistency and provides you with endless video template options and fresh inspiration. Whether you're working on a desktop or on the go, Canva’s video editing app(opens in a new tab or window) ensures you have access to the same intuitive tools and creative resources, so you can design stunning, on-brand videos anytime, anywhere.
Start inspired by searching for a template video with ‘tiktok in-feed ad’ in the search bar. You can study the templates by hovering your cursor over them. You’ll notice they run for 10-15 seconds. Ads work best when you keep them simple – less text works better and then you can focus on creating eye-grabbing visuals.
Start with a template that resonates with you and customize the text, font and any colors to better align with your branding. If you’re unfamiliar with Canva Brand Kit, check out this guide(opens in a new tab or window) and see how you can use it to instantly make your videos and design creative on-brand.
Next, adjust the video content to better align with your ad’s message. If you have your own video footage, drop that in, otherwise, you can search for free stock videos(opens in a new tab or window).
Movement is the best way to catch people’s eye as they’re scrolling through TikTok. Most videos will have plenty of movement but you can make your TikTok videos even more interesting by animating text and adding effects(opens in a new tab or window) to it too.
When adding animation to text, it’s a good idea to give people plenty of time to read it so always check timings when adding text to video.
Music is one of the most crucial elements of any video. Did you know you can access free audio in Canva? Check out our tutorial video here to learn how(opens in a new tab or window). For an in-feed ad, choose a track that compliments your brand as well as the messaging. Something happy, poppy and upbeat works well. You can filter music search results so you only get 'vocals' tracks, 'instrumentals' or 'effects'.
If your ad has no voice over, you can include lyrics. If it does have voice over, go for something instrumental so your audience can clearly hear your ad's message without getting distracted. You can also remove vocals from any song(opens in a new tab or window) to create a custom instrumental track. For a fun twist, try generating custom lyrics with an AI Rap Generator(opens in a new tab or window) to match your brand's vibe.
Once you’ve made all your edits and you’re happy with the final cut, hit the share button in the top right corner. You can share it to get feedback, invite someone in to edit it, or download it as a video when you’re ready. If you’re a Pro or Team user, you can even link up your Tiktok account and post directly from Canva. That way you can schedule a post for later and let it upload automatically.
