The way your guests’ names are written is the most important aspect of your place card design. First, the name has to be clear and legible; second, it has to match the theme of your affair. Once you’ve chosen your design and edited your place cards, you can download and print the cards on normal card stock or send them off to a professional printer. Using a place card template will make it easier to get your cards print-ready.
Place cards should include the first and last name of the guest, or simply say “Guest” if the name is unknown. Use formal addresses if appropriate, such as “Mr” and “Ms.” There is no reason to put the name on both sides; one side is enough.
Place cards are typically 2 inches high by 3.5 inches wide, but sizes will vary depending on the paper size and margins of your printer. Pre-cut card templates allow for even more sizes, like 1.75 by 3.75, and can be printed on directly, making the cutting and folding process easier.
